Rummikub – classic family game with numbers, tactics, and strategy

Gather the family around the table with Rummikub – a fun and entertaining family game, where overview, strategy, combination skills, and a bit of luck go hand in hand. The game is easy to learn but quickly becomes both tactical and exciting as the tiles must be placed smartly to be the first to get rid of them all.

Rummikub is perfect for cozy evenings with family, games with friends, vacations, summer houses, or rainy days when you want a game that both challenges and entertains. Both children and adults can join in, and the game is ideally suited for 2-4 players.

Each player starts with 14 tiles on their own tile holder. After that, the goal is to place the tiles on the table in smart combinations, form rows, collect matching numbers, and take advantage of the opportunities that arise along the way. The player who first gets rid of their tiles wins the round.

A game with overview, tactics, and fun combinations

In Rummikub, it's all about thinking ahead and seeing the possibilities in both your own tiles and the tiles that are already on the table. You can build on other players' rows, rearrange combinations, and create new opportunities if you have the overview.

This makes the game extra exciting because it is constantly changing. A tile that seems impossible to get rid of at the start can suddenly become the key to a strong combination later in the game.

How to place the tiles

To get rid of your tiles, you must place them on the table in groups of at least 3 tiles. You can either form a number sequence in the same color, for example, red 7, red 8, and red 9 – or you can form a group with the same number in different colors, for example, red 8, black 8, and blue 8.

Once there are tiles on the table, you can also add your own tiles to existing rows and groups. This provides plenty of opportunities to think creatively, turn the game to your advantage, and surprise the other players.

Jokers make the game even more fun

The game also includes jokers, which can be used as any number. A joker can therefore be crucial if you are missing the last tile to form a strong row or group. But use it wisely – a well-placed joker can be the difference between victory and defeat.
